Whats the difference with cell phones??

i got my first cell phone and i dont know what the difference is.

pre-paid and contract?

whats that mean?

Answer:

pre-paid means you pay as you go... contract is when you get billed every month and you have certain amount of minutes and texting available to you... depending on which plan you pick With contrace phones, you sign a contract with a service provider (verizon, t-mobile etc...) which commits you to their service for a year or more, then you pay monthly, the monthly fee depends on what plan you have and any extras, like text messaging.

With pre-paid phones, you buy cards with different amouts of minutes on them, the more minutes, the more expensive the card. then when you run out of minutes you just refill by buying anoth card...the good thing about this is that you are not under contract and there are no late fees and other things that are associated with contract phones
