Whats the cheapest way to set up a home network?

I have 4-5 computers to connect. 3 computers have ethernet, 2 only have serial, parallel, and usb ports. Do they sell Power or Phone line adapters that have multiple outputs and cost less tham $100 ( dont include the cost of a modem, switches, software...) Thank you!

Answer:

Go out and buy a switch or a router and 2 NIC cards and install them on the other 2 computers you don%26#39;t have ethernet on. Plug all of those into the router/switch and make sure all of your computer%26#39;s run the network wizard (manually) and that they all have the same workgroup name. I use a wireless LAN for 4 computers and a laptop and it works very well with my Comcast High-Speed Internet, and I don%26#39;t need phone lines or anything (except for the internet itself) Get a router that has multiple Ethernet ports and buy network cards for the ones that don%26#39;t have Ethernet. You can do this for less than $100.
