And which ones get the best reception nationwide (esp. in NJ?)
Answer:
get t mobile. u can buy any phone and make it prepaid, you wont get the offers that they have to buy it on a plan though (rebates, etc)
the minutes are cheap for $100 you get 1000 minutes and you dont need 2 put in a card for a year VIRGIN MOBILE! NO HEAVY TAXES OR FEES. TALK ONLY FOR NECESSARY THINGS AND YOU DO SAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! in texas we have something called metro pcs..you should check if they have it in NJ.you choose your plan..anywhere from 35 to 50 dollars and its UNLIMITED minutes.seriously you never run out or go over minutes and there is no contract It depends on how much you talk. If you talk a moderate amount, I%26#39;d go with Cingular GoPhone pick a plan or STI Mobile. If you don%26#39;t talk much at all and want a number that%26#39;s active for a while, Virgin or TracFone would be fairly good.
STI Mobile, Virgin, TracFone, and Net10 are all fairly cheap. Some offer cheaper phones than others (TracFone and Virgin tend to have cheap phones, while STI and Net10 are a bit higher).
Cingular GoPhone offers the $30/month plan (I can%26#39;t remember how many minutes) if you give them a credit card number. Or, they have a 25 cents a minute plan. Don%26#39;t get the 10 cents a minute, dollar a day-- that adds up really fast. Of course, 25 cents a minute would only be good if you don%26#39;t talk often. They have some cheap phones for the most basic ones.
